All things bookish!

Did Santa bring you lots of bookish goodness?  I was very pleased to receive an Amazon gift voucher which I promptly used to buy eBooks for the Kindle my parents purchased for my birthday (Christmas Eve).  Since then I’ve been reading and reading and reading – on the Kindle and off!  Before I list my books, however, I do have to tell you that some of these were bought and read using Kindle for Android over the past couple of months.

  1. Looks good. I’ve a few books that I’ve been reading via the Kindle app for iPhone. Is it better reading or viewing on the actual kindle?

      Hi Julie

I read on Kindle for Android before I got my Kindle proper. I prefer the Kindle as you get more words per screen but the contrast is slightly better on the backlit display so that’s better if reading in low light.

Have a lovely Boxing Day 🙂

      Laura

  2. Have a fab week! My It’s Monday is here.
Come and link reviews of books with a TV/Movie Adaptation on this week’s Read My Review

  3. Wow, I’m excited by all the Kindle titles since I got a Kindle for Christmas. Hope you’re enjoying all your goodies.

    Here’s mine:

Shopping for the Kindle is far too easy – but, since the classics are free, who’s counting?

  4. Did you like At Home? I just received it as a win and was so intrigued by the summary and review I read that I’m happy I won it; otherwise, I’d have to buy it. Although not as fortunate to have an e-Reader (yet), I do have Anna Karenina on my Kindle for PC software – I’ll be joining a readalong next month for it. I’m not certain if my comment system sends replies directly to the commenter, so I’m going to say that your pre-order of The Last Brother is a good bet; it was my gem of the week. I don’t think it lost anything in the translation, and it made me feel, which is always a good thing when you’re reading.

Thanks for commenting, Julie. I’ve not read At Home yet but am really looking forward to it. Glad to see you enjoyed The Last Brother – will give me something to look forward to in deepest, darkest February!

  5. Wow look at all that incoming! You are going to have fun reading ahead! 🙂
